2006 Solo II Divisional Series Results The 2006 Kumho Tires NorPac Solo II Divisional Series results are in with 30 new Champions crowned. Two out of three events were needed at some combination of the April 29-30 Atwater National Tour, June 10 – 11 Divisional at Helena, or the August 12 – 13 Packwood National Tour in order to accrue points. 70 drivers participated, and 7 of them found a way to get to all three events. Northwest Region captured the most championships total with 11. Oregon Region captured 6, Big Sky and Southwest Montana together captured 6, and San Francisco Region took home 5. By far the highest percentage of entrants to winners goes to the Montana gang: 9 drivers captured 6 Divisional Championships among themselves, demonstrating great enthusiasm for the series after hosting only their second divisional in the 12-year series. BS featured tight competition between Northwest Region’s Joe Goeke and San Diego Region’s Jason Isley, both driving Mazda RX-8’s. These two drivers, who competed only in the two National Tours, ended splitting wins. Geoke’s margin at Atwater gives him the Divisional Trophy. In SS, new divisional competitor Glen Barnhouse of Big Sky region tied San Francisco Region’s Mike Wood, with 24 points each. Wood wins the tie breaker, with his 4 th place finish at Packwood to Barnhouse’s 8th.Steve Wynne, Dodge ACR SRT-4, captured D Stock, based on a win at Packwood and a second at Atwater over Southwest Montana Region’s Nick Coate. DS’s six-driver field was the series’ largest. Rob McCleve drove his Mazda 626 to second place in H Stock after a win at the series’ only true Divisional at Helena, where he spent a lot of time Saturday morning in the pouring rain working on equipment and was definitely soaking wet. Keith Brown won HS on the strength of wins at both Atwater and Packwood. FSP is Mueller-land. Lorin Mueller, driving the Ford Focus he shares long-distance with his Mom and Dad, made up for a second-place at Atwater with wins at both Packwood and Helena. Dad James gets the series trophy for second place in the four-driver FSP field. James wins that trophy by only a single point over Northwest Region’s Sean Green and Scott Miller, who drive together in Green’s Triumph TR6. Green and Miller swapped positions at Atwater and Packwood, leaving the co-drivers appropriately tied together for Divisional points. In the ladies class, Mom Bonnie needed that trip to Helena to grab the Divisional Championship given that she swapped first and seconds with Brianne Green at Atwater and Packwood. Trophies should be distributed sometime during the first half of 2007. Plans for the 2007 Divisional Series should be made early in the New Year. Results and Points totals are shown below. Champions:
