Solo 2007 NorPac Divisional Series

The 2007 Kumho Tires NorPac Solo Divisional Series results are finally in. There are 26 new Champions crowned with 7 Second place awards and 4 third places. In order to qualify for an award in the series the competitors needed to run 2 of the 3 events. The events in 2007 were the Atwater National Tour on April 14-15, the Packwood National Tour on August 18-19 and the Helena Divisional September 15-16. 73 drivers were eligible and 6 drivers attended all 3 events.

The most champions came from the Northwest Region with 8, San Francisco Region had 6 and Oregon Region 5. Others were Big Sky Region with 3, Southwest Montana Region with 2 and Yellowstone Region, and Arizona Region with 1 apiece. The biggest group of participants came from Oregon Region and San Francisco Region with 23 each followed by Northwest Region with 21.

The tightest competition occurred in CSP with Jim Daniels from Oregon Region and Scott Fraser from San Francisco Region tying for first place, however I gave the win to Scott since in the events where they competed against each other Scott beat Jim on both occasions. Ron Bauer from Northwest Region was only 3 points behind them. In E Stock Jodi Fordahl from Northwest Region and Jerry Jenkins from Oregon Region were separated by just 1 point. Perfect scores for 2 event wins in their classes went to Larry Petrucci from Arizona Region in E Street Prepared, Glen Barnhouse from Big Sky Region in F Modified, Angela Previte from Big Sky Region in F Modified Ladies, Kevin McCormick from San Francisco Region in Street Touring S and from Northwest Region: Kim Littke in Street Touring S2 Ladies, Geoff Clark in Street Touring Ultra and Kevin Dietz in Super Stock.

Awards will be given out at the NorPac Convention, January 11-13 2008 in Reno.

In 2008 we will have the same venues with a few changes. For starters it looks like the national organization is working on a coming together of the Divisional Champions at Nationals. Details have not yet been worked out. It also looks like San Francisco Region will be doing a Divisional and the Helena Divisional should happen a little earlier in the year somewhere between Atwater and Packwood.
